An old ridgetop property granted to the Zapoleon Family in the 18th century that has been handed over the West Virginia Nature Conservancy. Named after the phantom women formed by Zeus in Greek Mythology, the Eidolon Preserve offer over four miles of various hiking trails with great views of the woods and the many animals that make the preserve their home including the cerulean warbler—a species of concern. The property’s peak has a great view of the surrounding area and has an elevation of 1,600 ft. The preserve is a great experience for any outdoorsman.
